Kibbe: Lockdowns Cause More Harm Than They Prevent with Ivor Cummins

We are fast approaching what will mark an entire year of restrictions brought about by the Covid virus. Despite the government’s well intentions (hopefully), the weather is getting colder, and the numbers are continuing to rise. Are these restrictions really the answer? Ivor Cummins, a bioengineer, argues that these lockdowns’ cost is not worth the benefits and that they may actually be hurting us overall.

Biochemical engineer Ivor Cummins talks about the consequences of lockdowns on human health and well-being. Apart from increasing rates of depression, drug use, suicide, and domestic violence, lockdowns actually make virus death worse by delaying herd immunity and allowing the virus to come back in winter when everyone is six months older and more susceptible to illness.
