Watch: Conservative Case for Ending the War on Drugs by SFL

Students for Liberty is a major organization composed of student libertarians. In this video, their CEO argues for ending the war on drugs.

The CEO of Students For Liberty, Dr. Wolf von Laer, will be interviewing Christina Dent, Founder and President of End It For Good, a conservative nonprofit that invites people to consider alternatives to our criminal justice approach to drugs and drug
use.

These alternatives range from ending criminal penalties for drug possession to legal regulation of substances, all with the goal of less societal harm.

Christina supported a criminal justice approach to drugs for most of her life, until she became a foster parent and saw it negatively affecting children and families. She began a multi-year journey to understand how we could actually reduce drug harms across our communities.

Christina changed her mind in favor of legal regulation as the best path forward with drugs, and presented the research and experiences that shifted her perspective as a TEDx Talk in 2019.
She has presented her TEDx Talk to over 1,000 people at events, often facilitating discussion afterwards.

Those audiences have included judges, pastors, law enforcement officers, doctors, mayors, university professors, therapists, and people directly impacted by addiction and incarceration. Christina’s expertise is presenting how a health-centered approach to drugs could transform our society by preserving lives and decreasing drug harms.

What is unique about her presentation is her invitational style on a difficult topic, inviting attendees on a journey to learn, while allowing them to come to different conclusions than she has on the best path forward.
